Wind Down Naturally

My DIY Night Skincare Routine

Nighttime is when your skin resets, and giving it the right ingredients before bed makes all the difference. My night skincare routine is all about cleansing deeply, restoring moisture, and treating the skin with care using simple, homemade solutions.

Step 1: Honey Cleanser

What You Need:

  • Raw honey

Start with a dry face. Massage honey gently into your skin for 60 seconds, then rinse with lukewarm water.

Why it Works:

Honey draws moisture into the skin while its antibacterial properties keep breakouts at bay. It’s perfect for a deep yet gentle cleanse at night.

Step 2: Green Tea Toner

Ingredients:

  • 1 green tea bag
  • Hot water

Steep the tea bag in hot water and let it cool completely. Soak a cotton pad in the tea and swipe it across your face. You can also store the tea in a spray bottle to mist your skin nightly.

Why it Works:

Green tea is packed with antioxidants that fight free radicals and soothe redness. It also helps reduce sebum and tightens pores while calming your skin before bed.

Step 3: Lip Moisturizer

What You Need:

  • Vaseline

Apply a small amount to your lips and rub it in evenly. In the morning, wipe off any residue with a cotton pad.

Why it Works:

Vaseline locks in moisture overnight and prevents chapping, so you wake up with soft, smooth lips.

Step 4: Eye Treatment

What You Need:

  • Vaseline

Dab a tiny bit of Vaseline on your ring fingers and gently pat it under your eyes.

Why it Works:

Vaseline creates a barrier that seals in hydration, reducing the appearance of fine lines and preventing dryness in the delicate under-eye area.

Weekly Treat: DIY Face Masks

Green Tea & Honey Mask

  • Contents of 1 green tea bag
  • 1 tsp honey

Mix in your palm and apply to the face. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse.

Why it Works:

This antioxidant-rich mask calms and hydrates the skin while giving it a subtle glow.

Potato & Milk Brightening Mask

  • 1 boiled potato
  • 3 tbsp milk

Mash the potato and mix with milk. Apply to clean skin, leave for 15 minutes, and rinse off.

Why it Works:

Potato has natural bleaching properties that help with hyperpigmentation. Combined with milk’s lactic acid, it softens and brightens your complexion.

Your night routine doesn’t have to be complicated—just intentional. These recipes give your skin everything it needs to rest, repair, and glow from within.
